The Turkish government’s development aid agency Friday delivered educational materials and equipment to the small East African country of Djibouti.

According to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency’s (TIKA) website, 400 stationery sets and schoolbags were donated, as well as various equipment to aid in the setup of school computer labs for the country's disabled children.

Established in 1992, TIKA is responsible for implementing Turkey's developmental cooperation policies overseas.

With a population of about a million, Djibouti lies in the Horn of Africa, on the coast of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

It provides important shipping lane access to its neighbor Ethiopia.
