Two women died and 17 others were injured on Saturday after a balcony collapsed in Australia, Victoria police said on Sunday.
"It is believed more than 30 people were standing on the balcony when it collapsed," the police said in a statement.
According to the local media, the balcony collapsed as people reportedly tried to take a group photo during a Tupperware Christmas party in Melbourne.
The police said a 59-year-old woman died at the scene on Saturday and a 37-year old woman lost her life in the hospital Sunday morning.
It added 17 other people were injured and taken to the hospital.
"Emergency services were called to a house on Balinga Court about 10:30 p.m. (local time)," the statement said.
The police will give a report to the coroner, it added.
