Anadolu Agency signed a cooperation agreement with Tunisia's official TAP news agency on Friday.

The agreement was signed by Anadolu Agency's Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya and TAP Director-General Lotfi Arfaoui at a ceremony at the TAP headquarters in Tunis.

Speaking at the ceremony, Turkey's Ambassador to Tunisia Omer Faruk Dogan said the agreement would allow both countries to understand each other better.

Ozkaya, for his part, said the agreement, which would cover training activities and exchange of media content, also included cooperation in digitalizing archives.

"I believe that this agreement will contribute to the further development of relations between the two countries, both in commercial and other areas," he added.

Arfaoui said they would be pleased to benefit in particular from the new media experience of Anadolu Agency both in the region and at large.

"This agreement offers a cooperation which would highly benefit both sides," he added.

Turkey's oldest news corporation Anadolu Agency broadcasts in eleven languages, including Turkish, English, French, Arabic, Persian, Kurdish (two dialects), Russian, Macedonian, Bosnian (three dialects) and Albanian, which enables it to reach millions of people around the world.
