A delegation of top Pakistani students, who have excelled in local exams, paid a visit to Anadolu Agency headquarters in Ankara on Monday.

The group of 28 students and 5 faculty members headed by Kausar Rukhsana, vice chancellor of Lahore College for Women University, was welcomed by Anadolu Agency's Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya.

Addressing the students, Ozkaya said Pakistan-Turkish relations are not only important for the two countries but also for the whole Islamic World.

He also gave a presentation about Anadolu Agency.

Later, in the questions and answers session, Ozkaya asked the students about their knowledge of July 15 2016 coup attempt in Turkey. The students answered that they followed news that night and watched how Turkish parliament was bombed.

Ozkaya said with the help of Allah Turkey resisted the military coup. He added if the coup was successful it would be a disaster for the whole Muslim World.

Ozkaya said they should fight together against Fetullah Terrorist Organisation (FETO).

"We need strong connection and strong relationship even better than before," he stressed.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen are accused of orchestrating the defeated July 2016 coup, which left 250 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Ankara has said FETO is also behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary, and has also accused it of infiltrating other countries through educational institutions, among others.
