Turkey's stock market up at opening

ANKARA

Turkey's BIST 100 stock exchange rose 193.60 points at the start of business Tuesday.

The Istanbul-based index rose 0.18 percent to reach 106,668.06 points.

The banking and holding sectors rose 0.04 percent and 0.10 percent respectively.

While all sector indices were up, the real estate investment trust sector was the best performer, rising 0.78 percent.

The BIST 100 was up 248.77 points -- 0.23 percent -- to close at 106,474.46 points on Monday, recording 5.1 billion Turkish liras (around $1.4 billion) in trade.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 3.6610 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.6370 at Monday’s close.
