Out of Turkey’s total oil product imports, crude oil, diesel and aviation fuel imports increased in September, according to the country's energy watchdog's report on Friday.
Aviation fuels increased by 87.91 percent to 18.4 thousand tonnes in September compared to the same month last year, Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said.
Diesel imports increased by 9.98 percent to 1.1 million tonnes and crude oil imports increased by 23.27 percent to 2.3 million tonnes in September.
As a result, Turkey's oil product imports overall increased by 19.24 percent to 3.7 million tonnes in September compared to September 2016.
Production of total oil refinery products increased by 3.55 percent to 2.5 million tonnes. In addition, diesel production increased by 4.24 percent to 889 thousand tonnes.
In September, total fuel sales rose by 9.36 percent to 2.4 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
