A senior Bosnian politician told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday the Yes vote in Sunday’s Turkish referendum reflected a desire for a “powerful” country.

Head of the House of Representatives of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation, Edin Music, was speaking exclusively to Anadolu Agency in Sarajevo.

Music said the Yes vote on constitutional changes was “a sign of love from the people of Turkey … the Turkish people who went to the polls for the constitutional amendments said Yes to a powerful Turkey".

The stability of Turkey was also very important for the region, he added.

Turkish voters went to the polls on Sunday to decide whether to approve changes to the country’s constitution.

According to unofficial results, the Yes campaign won with 51.41 percent, while the No vote stood at 48.59 percent. Voter turnout was 85.46 percent.

Music also congratulated Anadolu Agency’s BHS service for operating successfully for more than five years.

The agency’s operation in Sarajevo has been providing coverage in Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian since its inception.

"Anadolu Agency came to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the country's stationary media came to life ... we are very pleased with your presence and your work," said Music.
