ISTANBUL

Envoys from several countries paid their respects to victims of the Istanbul nightclub terror attack on Friday.

Consulate generals of at least 21 countries, including Pakistan, Germany, France, Belgium, Canada, Azerbaijan, Japan and Lebanon gathered outside the nightclub in the city’s Besiktas district.

Separately, the U.S. Consulate General Jennifer Davis also visited the scene of the terror attack. "Remembering the innocent lives cut short by terrorism at the Reina club and praying for peace," Davis tweeted.

At least 39 people, including several foreigners were killed when a gunman opened fire on revelers inside the Reina night club on New Year’s Day. Police have so far detained at least 34 suspects linked to the attack. The terrorist involved in the attack remains at large.
