The Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) on Thursday distributed food aid to needy families in eastern Mosul’s Jamaliya and Musraj districts, according to a TRC official.

“Ten tons of potatoes, 800 liters of cooking oil and three tons of rice were distributed among civilian residents of both districts,” Serdar Yilmaz, head of the TRC’s mission in Iraq, told Anadolu Agency.

Yilmaz went on to note that the TRC planned to step up its aid deliveries during the upcoming Ramadan fasting month, which will begin on Saturday.
