Total net sales of operators in country reach $3.6 billion in Q2 2017, communication agency says

Mobile phone subscribers in Turkey reach 76.6 million

Number of mobile phone subscribers in Turkey rose 4 percent to 76.6 million in the second quarter of 2017, compared to the same period previous year, state-run communications agency said on Friday.

According to the report released by Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), there are 10.9 million fixed phone subscribers in Turkey.

"There are 64.3 million total broadband subscribers of which 11.1 million are fixed broadband and 55.3 million are mobile broadband users. Increase rate between 2016 Q2 and 2017 Q2 is 20.1 percent," said Omer Fatih Sayan, chairman of the BTK, in a report titled Electronic Communications Market in Turkey.

"While total net sales of operators are 45.4 billion Turkish liras (some $13.2 billion) for the year 2016, it reached 12.5 billion Turkish liras (some $3.6 billion) in second quarter of 2017," he added.
