The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) says it has found the bodies of a number of passengers killed when their plane crashed in Iran’s Isfahan province on Sunday, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) has reported.

IRNA quoted IRCS General Director Mohsen Momeni as saying that efforts to find all the victims’ bodies were “still underway”.

Momeni went on to say that those bodies already found had not yet been identified.

On Sunday, an Iran Aseman Airlines passenger plane flying from Tehran to the southwestern city of Yasuj went down in the Mount Dena region of Isfahan’s Semirom district, killing all 66 people aboard.

Iran has suffered a string of aviation disasters in recent years, due in part to its aging aircraft fleet, which it has struggled to modernize amid years of U.S. sanctions.
