IDLIB, Syria

At least ten civilians were killed on Friday in an airstrike carried out in the town of Haish in northern Syria’s Idlib countryside, according to local civil-defense sources.

“Ten civilians were killed and another seven injured after Russian warplanes struck the area with concussion munitions,” one local civil-defense official told Anadolu Agency, speaking anonymously due to security fears.

“Russian aircraft then deliberately targeted a local medical center where the injured had been receiving treatment, rendering it completely inoperable,” the source added.

The same source went on to note that most of those killed in the strikes were civilians recently displaced from the outskirts of Idlib and Hama, along with civilians fleeing the town of Khan Shaykhun.

Khan Shaykhun was the target of a deadly chemical attack on Tuesday that left at least 100 people dead and hundreds more injured.
