Syria regime offensive in Latakia kills 71 in 10 days

Over the past ten days, 71 people -- including opposition fighters -- have been killed in attacks carried out by the Assad regime on the Turkmen Mountain and Jabal al-Akrad regions in Syria’s northwestern Latakia province, local sources told Anadolu Agency.
Over this period, regime forces conducted dozens of airstrikes in the province, killing 17 people in Turkmen Mountain and 56 others in Jabal al-Akrad.
The operations, supported by regime ground troops, also left up to 100 people injured, according to the same local sources.
Over the same ten-day period, the sources added, an estimated 150 Syrian troops were killed by armed opposition groups.
