The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s (OSCE) Minsk group should ensure an Armenian withdrawal from Nagorno-Karabkh, Azerbaijan said Thursday.

“Armenia’s aggression and their occupation of our soils remain the major threat to the security of Azerbaijan,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmet Hajiyev said.

The Minsk group was formed to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Hajiyev called on the group to enforce a UN Security Council resolution demanding Armenian forces end their occupation of the Azerbaijani territory.

Nagorno-Karabakh was seized by Armenian secessionists as the Soviet Union broke up in the late 1980s.
