Saudi-led coalition airstrikes killed 10 Houthis in western Yemen’s Al-Hudeidah province, local sources said Thursday.

Coalition forces conducted airstrikes against Houthi sites in Al-Hudeidah's Hays district, according to information gathered by Anadolu Agency from local sources.

Separately, five civilians were killed in Mawzi district in southwestern Taiz province in an airstrike by coalition forces.

Yemen has remained dogged by violence and chaos since 2014 when Houthi rebels overran much of the country, including the capital Sanaa.

The conflict escalated in 2015 when Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies launched a devastating air campaign aimed at rolling back Houthi gains and shoring up Yemen’s Saudi-backed government.
