Besiktas and Medipol Basaksehir drew 1-1 on Monday at Istanbul's Vodafone Park in a Turkish Super Lig match week 9 clash.
Late goals decided the fate of the match as Basaksehir managed to go up 1-0 in the 89th minute, thanks to a top-right finish by Kerim Frei.
But Besiktas' defender Dusko Tosic equalized the match at 1-1 in the 92nd minute, when he headed the ball to Ricardo Quaresma's corner kick.
The score helped neither Besiktas nor Basaksehir, as both teams failed to take advantage of current leader Galatasaray's points loss to Fenerbahce on Sunday evening.
Basaksehir increased their points total to 17 to become fifth in the standings, joining Goztepe, Akhisarspor, and Kayserispor at respective second, third and fourth places with 17 points.
Besiktas, on the other hand, are in 7th place with 15 points, behind sixth-place Fenerbahce with the same amount of points.
Trabzonspor's free fall continues
On Saturday, Trabzonspor, who fired their manager after last week's horrible 1-6 loss against Akhisarspor on their home field, took on Yeni Malatyaspor with newly assigned manager Riza Calimbay.
However, the Black Sea region team's free fall continued as they were beaten 1-0. Trabzonspor are now at 13th place with only 9 points in 9 weeks.
First goalless scores of the season
On Sunday, the league's first goalless matches were played against Sivasspor and Bursaspor and Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
Both matches finished 0-0, a far cry from the league's goal average per game of 3.24 after eight weeks. No match in 77 games ended in 0-0 until Sunday.
