At least 2 PKK terrorists killed in southeast Turkey
11 improvised explosive devices also destroyed in controlled explosion in Sirnak province, Governor’s Office says

SIRNAK, Turkey
Turkish security forces killed at least two PKK terrorists in southeastern province on Friday, Governor’s Office said.
According to the statement issued by Sirnak Governor’s Office, Gendarme forces performed a counter-terrorism operation in Silopi district of the province.
It said 11 improvised explosive devices recovered in the operation were destroyed in controlled explosions.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
