Four PKK terrorists have been captured in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak just after crossing the border from Iraq, according to the Turkish General Staff.

During the terrorists' capture in the Uludere region, Turkish forces also seized three improvised explosive devices, 30 kilograms of aluminum powder, 10 kg of RDX explosive, and six electrical detonators, said a General Staff statement Thursday evening.

Since it resumed its armed campaign in July 2015, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 1,200 security personnel and civilians, including women and children.

Separately, in the southeastern Mardin province, Turkish forces seized 12 kg of ammonium nitrate, three sniper chargers, 90 cartridges, and 1,000 kg of foodstuffs, it added.

Separately, in Pulumur, in the eastern province of Tunceli, Turkish forces also seized 250 kg of ammonium nitrate and four improvised explosive devices.

In an operation in Nazimiye, Tunceli, 2,000 kg ammonium nitrate, 1,300 meters of electric cable, and 180 liters of gasoline were seized by Turkish forces.

A total of 961 people trying to cross into Turkey from Syria were also captured by Turkish Land Forces Command border units.

Additionally, 63 people illegally attempting to travel from Turkey into Greece were also captured, the statement said.
