Four PKK terrorists have been killed during an anti-terror operation in eastern Tunceli province, according to regional governor's office Thursday.
In a statement, the Tunceli Governor's Office said the provincial gendarmerie unit had launched an anti-terror operation in rural Ovacik district to neutralize terrorists and destroy their shelters.
Four terrorists were killed during the operation while an M-16 rifle, two Kalashnikov rifles, a designated marksman rifle, a gun, two backpacks, and one pair of binoculars were seized.
Anti-terror operations continue in the region.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization in Turkey, the U.S., and the EU. In its over three-decade long terror campaign against Turkey, more than 40,000 people have been killed.
Since the group resumed its armed campaign in July 2015, more than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives.
