Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay on Thursday said, "As one of those analyzing the situation well, Gezi Park and other incidents are strongly related with hindering the solution process."

Atalay attended the draw of the Housing Development administration of Turkey for citizens to have houses following the earthquake in Turkey's eastern province of Van in 2011.

Atalay stated that they clearly understood the reason behind the incidents following their assessment and analysis of the situation and added, "Turkey is developing to become among the major states in the world. There are some internal powers disturbed of these developments occuring during AK Party's chairmanship and some external powers disturbed of Turkey's rapid development. Thank God the games are over. Our citizens haven't supported these incidents so much."

Some media institutions have exaggerated the incidents and Turkey's reputation has been slightly damaged both in Turkey and internationally, Atalay noted.

Emphasizing that Turkish people had to collaborate just like they did following the earthquake in Van, Atalay said, "As one of those analyzing the situation well, Gezi Park and other incidents are strongly related with hindering the solution process. Turkey is about the resolve one of its biggest issues and we are progressing well. We have stood against all injustices carried out under the name of terror. The state is facing itself and its past mistakes. We are working, so all citizens can live in peace with their own values."
