Turkey's Minister of European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said the Gezi Park protests were planned six months ago.

Speaking to a private television channel on Sunday, Bagis said "In fact, this (the protests) is an effort to trigger a move which will be concluded as regime change in Turkey. The protests were planned six months ago."

Bagis also stated that everyone was in a struggle for soothing the protests that were started in reaction to a construction project in Taksim, Istanbul but which turned into nation-wide demonstrations.

Pointing out that there was a game played against Turkish nation, Bagis emphasized "The demonstrations occured in the most successful period of Turkey."

The minister also said that they hoped the number of the attendees to the Kizilcesme Rally on Sunday in Istanbul would push 1 million.
