New police chiefs assigned to Turkey's 61 provinces

ANKARA 

New police chiefs have been assigned to 61 Turkish provinces, including Izmir, Adana and Konya, according to a decree published Wednesday on the Official Gazette.

Twenty-four chiefs were transferred from one province to another while 37 have been newly appointed.

Servet Yilmaz and Adem Cakici, who were police chiefs of Kahramanmaras and Rize respectively, were named deputies to the head of the Turkish national police.
