The number of motor vehicles which are registered to traffic increased 6.5 percent in April when compared to March 2012.
TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, said on Thursday that 87,542 motor vehicles were registered to the traffic in April 2012.
Among them, cars were on the first place with 48.9 percent (42,831) and they were followed by small trucks with 18.2 percent (15,889), motorcycles with 17.8 percent (15,572) and tractors with 7.8 percent (6,794).
Small buses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 7.4 percent (6,456) of the registered motor vehicles in April.
The number of registered motor vehicles in April decreased 12.9 percent when compared to April 2011.
In the period between January and April, 348,142 motor vehicles have been registered to the traffic.
