A number of cultural events in Istanbul have been cancelled following Sunday’s deadly car bomb attack in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Cultural Department said in a statement that a number of concerts and plays planned for the CRR Concert Hall were canceled until March 17.

A concert by Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, which was planned for Monday night, was also canceled, the cultural department said.

The municipality’s City Theaters also said that Oyunun Oyunu play’s gala was canceled.

The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) announced that it canceled its press launch for the 35th Istanbul Film Festival, which was supposed to be held on Monday.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of yesterday’s terrorist attack in Ankara and wish a quick recovery to those injured,” it said in a statement.

At least 37 people died on Sunday night’s car bomb attack in Ankara’s central Kizilay neighborhood.
