Turkish FM to attend BSEC meeting in Armenia

ANKARA

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will travel to Armenia Thursday to attend a brainstorming meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in an effort to enhance cooperation among its members.

Founded in 1999 with headquarters in Istanbul, the BSEC has 12 member states including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Davutoglu after his one day trip to Armenia will head to Greece where he will meet with his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos to discuss bilateral relations as well as the Cyprus dispute.

The Cyprus dispute continues on between the Greek Cypriot administration, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Turkey and Greece since Turkey sent troops to the island in the aftermath of a Greek-inspired coup to annex the island with Greece.
