ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Minister of Education Nabi Avcı and Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Sahin discussed new approaches on children's education and rearing culture.

Meeting at the 21st Century World Summit on Child Education held in Turkish capital Ankara, the ministers remarked on the different understandings of 'child' and "child education" in each culture.

"Each child is special and each has a talent," said Avci.

Criticizing the term "child prodigy," Avci said, "The term categorizes the children. Every child is talented and gifted."

Stating that educating a child is a civilizational project, Sahin said "The Ministry of Family and Social Policies is restructuring to explore and evaluate current child education issues in the world and Turkey comparatively by considering the development process throughout history and different country practices."

The 21st Century World Summit on Child Education will be also held between September 27 and 29 in Istanbul.
