Turkish soldier succumbs to wounds in eastern Turkey
Friday's PKK attack in eastern Bingol province had left the soldier in critical condition

ELAZIG, Turkey
A soldier, who was critically wounded during in an anti-terror operation targeting the PKK in Turkey’s eastern province of Bingol Friday, succumbed to his wounds at a hospital in Elazig on Saturday, according to the local governorship.

Late on Friday, two other soldiers were wounded in the same incident and they are still being treated at the Bingol State Hospital.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
