Belgian media are reporting that a bomb blast struck the Brussels Institute of Criminology early Monday.

No casualties have been reported.

State-run channel RTBF said unknown attackers rammed the institute's gates with a car at 2.30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT).

The attackers then detonated an explosive device. An investigation into the blast is still underway.

The criminology institute, which is affiliated to the country’s federal justice body, is located in the Neder-Over-Heembeek district of Brussels.

Belgium has been on high alert after being hit by terror attacks. Thirty-four people were killed and dozens injured in three bombings in the Belgian capital on March 22, carried out by Daesh.
