Bomb blasts kill 3, injure 13 in Iraqi capital

BAGHDAD

At least three people were killed and 13 others injured in two separate blasts in Iraqi capital Baghdad on Saturday.

An explosive device detonated in al-Hamamyat in northern Baghdad, killing two people and injuring nine others, a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry told Anadolu Agency.

Another bomb blast killed an army soldier and injured people people in al-Doura district in northern Baghdad, the same source added on condition of anonymity due to restrictions to speaking to media.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attacks, though Iraqi authorities often point the finger at Daesh group, which overran vast territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.

At least 2,119 people were killed in violence across Iraq in June according to UN estimates.
