BAGHDAD
At least two people were killed in a car bombing in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Tuesday, according to a local police officer.

“The bombing killed two people and injured nine others,” he said.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
In recent months, devastating bombings -- frequently featuring explosive-packed vehicles -- have become an almost daily occurrence in Iraq’s violence-prone capital.
The Iraqi authorities typically blame such attacks, which often target civilian areas, on the Daesh terrorist group, which is facing a major offensive by the Iraqi army to oust it from the northern city of Mosul.
