At least 20 people were killed on Saturday in a spate of attacks across Iraq’s capital.

A car-bomb struck a security checkpoint in northern Baghdad, killing 10 people and injuring 29 others, a security source said.

Another six people, including a policeman, were killed and 21 others were injured in five bomb blasts in Baghdad, a police source said.

An Iraqi civilian was also shot dead in eastern Baghdad, the source said, adding that three bodies with gunshot and torture wounds were found dumped in eastern Baghdad. Security forces also found a pro-government militiaman dead in western Baghdad.

The sources spoke to Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity because of restrictions on speaking to the media.
