Israeli aircrafts targeted Hamas military positions in Gaza city early Sunday.

According to the Palestinian security source, who wanted to be anonymous, said Israeli aircrafts hit Hamas's Al-Qassam Brigades positions in Gaza's northwest.

The source also said there was no reported casualty from the attacks targeting three positions.

Israeli police said Saturday that two rockets fired from the Gaza city landed in rural areas of Israel's Ashkelon.

U.S. President Donald Trump's decision on Dec. 6 to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital triggered demonstrations around the world including in the Palestinian territories.

Since then, eight Palestinians were martyred during several protests and Israeli air campaigns against civilian positions in the Gaza city.

At least 535 people including 47 children were also injured and 14 ambulances were damaged by the Israeli gun fires, the Palestinian health ministry spokesperson Ashraf Al-Kudra told Anadolu Agency on Sunday.

During the protests, some Israeli soldiers reportedly used real bullets on Palestinian people.
