The 15th Mediterranean Logistics and Transport Forum will be held on June 6-7 in Barcelona, Spain.

The two-day event organized by the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Mediterranean (ASCAME) and Barcelona’s Consortium of the Zonas Francas with the support of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce will take place as a part of the 19th International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition.

The forum will bring the logistics and transport sectors under the motto “Another Time is Coming” to highlight the unique position of Mediterranean countries, as international distribution centers, at a time when major changes are taking place.

Innovation and new policies in the Mediterranean logistics and transport sectors are expected to be discussed at the forum.

Logistics is a strategic economic dynamism of the Mediterranean region, which counts on strong business relationships with international markets in various sectors from marine to air transport, ASCAME said in a written statement.

"The 15th Mediterranean Forum of Logistics and Transport will approach the unique position of the Mediterranean in the international logistics market and its privileged relations with the markets of Eastern Europe, North Africa, and Gulf states," it added.

During the forum, special sessions will be held for women employment in the regional and global logistics sector and start-ups in the market.

The 10th Mediterranean Summit of Ports will take place on the same day, which will assess the consequences for port and maritime transport of the Paris Agreement on climate change.

International and regional senior executives of logistics and transport companies from the Mediterranean, Europe, and the Gulf states are expected to attend the forum, ASCAME said.

In 2016, over 9,000 companies attended the international meeting, the chamber added.
