The widow of the perpetrator of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history has been arrested for obstruction of justice, the FBI said.

Noor Salman, wife of Omar Mateen, who shot dead 49 people at an Orlando, Florida nightclub in June last year, was arrested Monday in San Francisco, spokesman Prentice Danner told media.

Salman had been under an FBI investigation since she was questioned for hours shortly after the attack. Authorities at the time expressed suspicion she was not telling the truth about not knowing about the attack in advance.

Salman’s parents immigrated to the U.S. from the West Bank in 1985. She met Mateen in 2011 and married shortly afterward, although the exact date has not been made public.

“I was unaware of everything,” she told the New York Times in a November interview. “I don’t condone what he has done. I am very sorry for what has happened. He has hurt a lot of people.”
