IDLIB, Syria

Three people were killed by airstrikes carried out by the Assad regime in two separate districts of Syria’s northwestern Idlib province, local sources reported on Monday.

According to local civil defense officials, Syrian warplanes targeted residential areas in the towns of Maaret al-Numan and Binnish in the Idlib countryside, leaving at least three dead and 15 others injured.

Firas Faham, an activist based in the targeted area, told Anadolu Agency that Monday’s airstrikes had caused considerable destruction and had damaged a local museum.

Last week, Syrian warplanes struck a refugee camp near Idlib’s town of Sarmada, leaving at least 27 people dead, including several women and children.
