SANLIURFA, Turkey

Turkish security forces on Friday arrested two members of Daesh terrorist organization in southeastern province of Sanliurfa, according to a security official.

The terrorists -- Uday Huseyin and Hasan al-Hezel -- were arrested near Syrian border when they were attempting to enter Turkey through illegal means, said a security official, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media.

Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart Daesh attacks.

More than 300 people have lost their lives in Daesh-claimed attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bombs, and rocket-and-gun attacks.
