Darren Osborne, the man arrested in connection with an Islamophobic terror attack in London which left one man dead and 11 injured will be charged with terrorism-related murder and attempted murder, British prosecutors said on Friday.

“Today, the CPS authorized the Metropolitan Police to charge Darren Osborne with terrorism-related murder and attempted murder following the incident in Finsbury Park in the early hours of Monday 19 June,” the Crown Prosecution Service said.

Osborne, 47, is alleged to have driven a van into a crowd of Muslim worshippers outside an Islamic center in north London. He will appear in court on June 23.

Eyewitness Abdulraman Aidroos told Anadolu Agency a “white British man” had shouted “I am going to kill Muslims”.

Prime Minister Theresa May described the attack as “sickening” and “insidious and destructive to our values and our way of life”.
