The U.S. technology giant Google introduced its new smartphones Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, its new laptop, in addition to home and entertainment gadgets in an event held in San Francisco, California on Wednesday.
The 5-inch (12.7 cm) Pixel 2 and the 6-inch (15.2 cm) Pixel 2 XL both have 4 GB RAM and have options of 64 GB or 128 GB of internal memory.
Both phones have a 12.2-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, which received a rating of 98 out of 100 from global image quality rating provider DxOMark, and acquired the highest scores in overall smartphone camera quality in the world.
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, both durable against water and dust, can last seven hours from only 15 minutes of fast charging, Google said.
The 'Always-on-Display' feature of the phones shows time, hour and battery life while the home screen is turned off, but more importantly, it shows what song is playing in the background by detecting and identifying the song without connecting to cloud servers.
The 'Active Edge' technology also enables users to reach out to voice-active 'Google Assistant' by touching the screen of the phone while users hold it in their palms.
Both phones also support 'Augmented Reality' (AR), in which users can use 'AR Stickers' to add animations to their pictures and videos in real-time.
The 'Smart Lens' feature helps users capture specific information in a picture, like a phone number, and save it. The feature also aids users to search a specific design, color or specification in a photo on Google's internet database to reach more information.
Pixel 2 comes in colors of 'Clearly White', 'Just Black', and 'Kinda Blue' for $649 (2,320 Turkish liras), while Pixel 2 XL will be available in 'Just Black' and 'Black & White' colors to be available for $849 (3,034 Turkish liras).
Customers who purchase any one of the models will be able to use Google Photos and Google Drive unlimited for free to store their photos and videos, Google said.
