Turkey's second energy summer school, which focuses on gaining a practical knowledge on both the Mediterranean and Turkey's energy dynamics, opened its doors in Turkey’s Aegean coast of Izmir on Monday.
The school, which is organized by Institute for Energy Markets and Policies (EPPEN), aims to bring leading energy scholars, professionals and policy makers together in order to analyse general energy issues and to provide a strategic outlook on Turkish energy markets and Mediterranean energy development.
Speaking at the Second Eurasia Energy Summer School in Turkey's western city of İzmir, Dr. Volkan Ozdemir, head of the Institute for Energy Markets and Policies (EPPEN), emphasized the significance and role of the energy summer school for the Turkish energy sector.
The knowledge sharing between international experts and Turkish shareholders is important to meet Turkey's need of qualified personnel, Ozdemir said.
He noted that the main target of the energy summer school is to bring the world's accumulation of knowledge while showcasing Turkey's position and energy market.
The first Eurasia Energy Summer School was held on July 26-31, 2015 in Antalya where 20 participants from six different countries took part in the program.
Heads of public and private energy institutions in Turkey as well as world-renowned energy experts from academia, international organizations and research centers such as Ankara University, the International Energy Charter, the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and lecturers from Europe will impart knowledge through speeches and lectures until Thursday.
