Turkey's daily power consumption up 7.3% on June 8

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 1,016 megawatt-hours, while imports total 9,358 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 7.3% to 742,924 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 35,197 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,749 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 734,582 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an 8.2% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 177,273 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity plants and lignite plants followed 167,664 megawatt-hours and 117,815 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,016 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,358 megawatt-hours.
