Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6% to 511,273 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 27,521 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 17,150 megawatt-hours at 10.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 516,036 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 5% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 154,625 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and lignite hydroelectricity plants followed with 89,266 megawatt-hours and 85,399 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,730 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,967 megawatt-hours.
