EVs take largest share at 71.9% of Norway's passenger car sales in August

- 16,427 new passenger cars were registered in August

The vast majority of passenger cars sold in August in Norway were zero-emission cars with a 71.9% market share, according to the Norwegian Road Traffic Information Council (OFV) on Thursday.

The new car registration tables for August published by OFV showed 16,427 new passenger cars were registered.

This marks an increase of 52%, or an additional 5,621 vehicles on the road, compared to August 2020.

The most registered car model was the Tesla Model 3, followed by Toyota RAV4, Volkswagen ID.4 and Volvo XC40.
