Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.24% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 800,997 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 38,507 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,300 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 810,704 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.32% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.19% of total electricity consumption on Thursday, hydropower plants held a 20.49% share while imported coal plants comprised 19.56%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,868 megawatt-hours while imports reached 161 megawatt-hours.
