Turkey's daily power consumption down 0.74% on Sept. 10

- Electricity exports amount to 5,424 megawatt-hours while imports reach 432 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.74% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 914,968 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Electricity production reached 919,960 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking a 0.62% decrease compared to the previous day.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 42,808 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,400 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.52% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Thursday, imported coal plants held a 21.44% share while hydropower plants comprised 19.51%.

On Thursday Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,424 megawatt-hours while imports reached 432 megawatt-hours.
