Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.5% on Aug. 30

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 4,514 megawatt-hours while imports reach 3,286 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 796,923 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Electricity production reached 798,151 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.5% decrease compared to the previous day.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 38,872 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,139 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.97% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 24.89% share while hydro power plants comprised 15.22%.
