Turkey's daily power consumption down 11.8% on Nov. 8

- Electricity exports amount to 10,318 megawatt-hours while imports reach 150 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 692,226 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time reaching 34,604 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,341 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 702,393 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.7% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.1% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 16.9% share while lignite plants comprised 17%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,318 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 150 megawatt-hours.
