Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Sunday by 8.28% compared to the previous day to 828,654 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 39,323 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,739 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 823,466 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.17% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 217,208 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydroelectricity plants followed with 203,868 megawatt-hours and 151,510 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,949 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 9,138 megawatt-hours.
