Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.4% on Nov. 1

- Electricity exports amount to 11,565 megawatt-hours while imports reach 8,225 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 668,966 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.


Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 32,892 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,364 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.


Electricity production reached 672,307 megawatt-hours on Sunday marking a 9.8% decrease compared to the previous day.


While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.26% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 25.37% share while Lignite plants comprised 17.63%.


On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,565 megawatt-hours while imports reached 8,225 megawatt-hours.
