Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Sunday by 9.74% compared to the previous day to reach 790,389 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 38,566 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,347 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 789,996 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.78% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.89% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 25,53% share while lignite power plants comprised 12.97%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,304 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,696 megawatt-hours.
