Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 0.81% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 864,295 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,357 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,734 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 872,794 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.75% drop from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 42.4% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 14%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,290 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,303 megawatt-hours.
